The Team Selector for the Dorset County Team is appointed by the Dorset Swimming Technical Committee (STC) and team selection policy is as follows.
1. Swimmers will be selected from ranking data of times supplied by clubs affiliated to Dorset County ASA and achieved between specified dates as stipulated by the Competition. All submitted entries must be made using Short Course times or those converted from Long Course times using approved ASA conversion tables.
2. It is a Clubs responsibility to maintain and update its ranking data. Dorset County ASA cannot be held responsible for inaccurate ranking data submitted by affiliated clubs, which results in non-selection.
3. Swimmers will be selected to create the fastest team possible and may be selected for a relay only where appropriate.
4. Selections are subject to verification and appraisal of current form at time of selection, according to level of swimming activity and deemed competition fitness. If there is any doubt as to the fitness of a swimmer, Dorset County ASA has the right to exclude that swimmer from the team.
5. Selected swimmers are expected to travel as a team to the competition venue unless on medical grounds.
6. Swimmers, coaches and team managers are expected to abide by the ASA Code of Conduct at all times.
